    Whether you're just getting started on your project or struggling to reach the finish line, we can help you beat perfectionism and publish your book.

  • Sometimes called a “vanity press,” a hybrid publisher provides professional services to writers to help finish, publish, and promote their book.

  • Our services are similar to Scribe Media’s and other hybrid publishers, however, three key differences set Trickster Press apart:

    1. Price point. Most hybrid publishing packages start at five figures. We are dedicated to offering accessible pricing so that more authors and artists (like us!) can get published.

    2. Genre. We publish and support authors in all genres, not just non-fiction.

    3. Pace. We’ve refined our craft to deliver excellent quality work in a fraction of the time promised by other hybrid publishers.

  • As a hybrid publisher, we do not follow the traditional model of paying advances to authors and taking returns from book sales.

    We instead offer paid, professional authorship services and hands-on, human support to help you publish your book, either independently, or as a Trickster Press title.

  • Yes, absolutely! Our services cover a wide range of your needs, and we’re happy to support your desire to publish with a traditional house.

    We offer writing & feedback services like manuscript reads and line editing, and can also support with writing agent queries, book proposals, and pitches. See our Services page for more.

  • No, we currently do not offer guaranteed distribution to physical stores. We can, however, offer coaching to help you position and sell your books in local, independent retailers in your area. 

  • Prior to launching Trickster Press, our consultants have battle-tested AI on various stages of the writing and publishing process.

    We have done our due diligence to explore the capacity and limitations of AI, as well as the ethical considerations of using it, especially in the process of book creation.

    Our decision remains to use NO AI in our content creation, writing, editing, and design processes – with one exception.

    We employ Otter.ai to capture audio transcriptions during our consultation and interview sessions, as the cost and time to manually record and transcribe every meeting would significantly stall our operations.

    That being said, if you would like to, or are already incorporating AI tools in your writing process, we offer a non-judgmental approach. We are happy to support and guide you on best practices for using AI in your work.

  • Depending on what stage you’re at, finishing your book can happen quickly, almost as if by magic - when you have the right support and know exactly what steps to take.

    We’ve written books in as little as three days, and taken an idea from concept to shelf in less than 1 month. Most projects average 6-8 weeks, though some can stretch to 6 months.

  • We are currently building a scholarship program to help authors in need of financial assistance. For now, all our service prices are fixed.

  • Unless we publish your book as a Trickster Press title, you bear 100% responsibility for the final draft of your book, and for your own creative satisfaction. You could theoretically work with us for 6 months, and still decide after that, you want to change everything about your book. That’s fine! No hard feelings on our end.

    We will always provide the most personal, thoughtful and professionally sound support we can to you on your authorship journey.

    If at any point during the process of working with us you are not satisfied, we are happy to pause and reassess our approach to find a better way forward for you.

    However, due to the intangible nature of creative support and the immeasurable hours invested into offering our expertise, we do not offer refunds, except in special circumstances.
