Developmental Editing
Developmental editing is the first stage we look at together. We focus on how the book is structured, both from a logical and creative perspective, and identify any gaps in understanding or communication.

Narrative Editing
Narrative editing is where we get into the language and content of your story. We examine each chapter, paragraph, and line from both a wide and micro lens to find a consistent narrative rhythm, style, and tone.

Line Editing
Line editing comes last, when plot holes have been filled and structure is locked. This is where we delicately and thoroughly groom your manuscript with a fine-tooth comb, giving attention to every single word and punctuation mark.

Proofreading
Proofreading is the very, very last step before a manuscript is locked and sent to pre-publication. We offer proofreading for manuscripts that are both formatted and unformatted.

Editing FAQ.

$5,000 — for a manuscript up to 50,000 words. This includes:
1 × 60 minute call to kick off the process
Up to 4 × 30 minute review calls, one after each editing pass
1 x developmental edit pass (margin notes, general restructuring, and written feedback that you implement)
1 x narrative edit pass (margin notes, some in-line edits, and written feedback that you implement)
1 x line edit pass (thorough in-line edits, full pass of grammar, punctuation, and formatting)
1 x proofreading pass (final check for errors)
Complexity adjustments:
+$1,500 → 50k–65k words
+$3,000 → 65k–85k words
+$5,000 → 85k–100k+ words

Most editing projects are completed in 4-8 weeks depending on manuscript length and complexity, with structured checkpoints throughout the process.

While we, as your editor, of course take on the heavy lifting of the editing process, you will also have to edit, add to, and rework your own words for some portions of that process.
Your main job as the writer is to review our editorial feedback in a timely manner, accept or reject our suggestions, and incorporate any additional writing required from your end.

No, we only edit your manuscript with human eyes and hands (our own). We do not upload your manuscript to any AI platforms.
